Working with us

Do you work in English?

Yes. Attorneys and staff communicate in English, and French is also available. Court submissions must be in Turkish; we translate and explain all key documents.

Can meetings be held online?

Yes. Video meetings are routine for clients abroad, and documents can be exchanged by email.

How are fees set?

Fees are agreed in a written engagement letter based on the scope and complexity of the work. Turkish law sets a minimum tariff for attorneys’ fees. Court fees, expert fees and translation costs are charged separately.

Can you invoice a foreign company?

Yes. Invoices can be issued to foreign entities, and payment terms are agreed in the engagement letter.

Power of attorney

How do I give you a power of attorney from abroad?

You can sign it at the nearest Turkish consulate, or before a local notary with an apostille (for countries party to the Hague Apostille Convention) followed by a certified Turkish translation. We prepare the wording for you.

Do I need a Turkish tax number?

For many transactions, such as buying property or opening a bank account, a Turkish tax number is required. It can be obtained quickly from a tax office or a Turkish consulate.

Courts and deadlines

I received a Turkish court or enforcement document. How long do I have?

Often only days: 7 days to object to a payment order, 5 days in cheque and promissory note proceedings, 2 weeks to answer a civil claim or appeal a judgment. Use our deadline calculator and contact us immediately.

How long does a lawsuit take in Turkey?

It depends on the type of case and the court’s workload. An uncontested divorce may be decided within a few months, while commercial cases with appeals can take several years.

Is a foreign judgment valid in Turkey?

A foreign judgment takes effect in Turkey only after a Turkish court grants recognition or enforcement (exequatur), subject to conditions such as finality and respect for the right of defence.
