In criminal cases the first hours are often decisive: what is said in the first statement, whether detention is requested, what evidence is secured. Every suspect has the right to remain silent and to a lawyer from the moment of custody.
We defend individuals and company executives at every stage, represent victims, and handle economic and public-office offences. We work in English and French and can coordinate sworn interpreters for foreign nationals.

Investigation and police statements
Statements to the police or prosecutor can be used throughout the case. Before making one, a suspect should know the accusation, the evidence and their rights. Foreign nationals are entitled to an interpreter and to have their consulate informed.
Custody, detention and judicial control
Detention is an exceptional measure requiring strong suspicion and a ground such as risk of flight or tampering with evidence. Judicial control measures — reporting obligations, travel bans, house arrest — are alternatives. Detention and judicial control decisions can be challenged by objection.
Prosecution and trial
After the indictment is accepted, the defence examines the file, submits evidence and questions witnesses at the hearings. The court may convict, acquit, or defer the announcement of the verdict.
Representation of victims
Victims may join the proceedings as intervening parties, request evidence and appeal. For offences prosecuted on complaint, the complaint must be filed within six months of learning the act and the perpetrator.
Victim–offender mediation
For certain offences, victim–offender reconciliation (uzlaştırma) is mandatory before prosecution. A successful settlement ends the case.
Economic and public-office offences
Fraud, breach of trust, money laundering, bid rigging, bribery and embezzlement cases require analysis of financial records and corporate documents as much as criminal law expertise.
Objections and appeals
First-instance judgments can be appealed to the regional court of appeal and then, for certain cases, to the Court of Cassation. Following individual application, the Constitutional Court reviews rights violations.
Frequently asked questions
I am a foreign national and have been called to give a statement. What should I do?
Contact a lawyer before giving the statement. You have the right to an interpreter and a lawyer; you may remain silent until you understand the accusation.
Can a travel ban be lifted?
Yes. A travel ban imposed as judicial control can be challenged by objection, and the court must review it periodically.
